This year, spring and summer trends seem to be getting bigger and better than ever. 2019 London Fashion week, showcased an abundance of looks that included 80s inspired collections, plenty of pastels and seasonal oddities that are here to stay. Here are some of the hottest spring/ summer fashion trends from London Fashion week you’ll want to add to your wardrobe.
Pastels
This spring is marked by an obsession with lavender and lilac, and the pastels are showing no remorse to summer. Stick with the lavender pallets to stay on trend as well as daring with new shades of bubblegum pink ad sherbet lime which are perfect for the hot sunny months. Whether your inspiration is ice-cream or cotton candy, this style is going to bring the sweeter side of fashion out to play this spring and summer.
Activewear
In recent years, the activewear market has exploded and is continuing to soar thanks to the growing popularity of fitness, particularly within the younger generation. Keeping up with the latest fitness fashion trends has become just as important as the workout and as the amount spent on gym memberships has almost doubled, so has the demand for sportswear as it takes over large portions of the fashion industry.
Throwback to the 1980s
Just like the return of daring animal prints, it would appear that the 1980’s throwback will not quit. Plundering the decade for yet another round of inspirational looks, this spring and summer will continue to see strong shoulders, glitzy party dresses and gaudy accessories that all echo the eighties most outrageous trends – that the fashion world cannot get enough of.

Denim has been dominating the runways for many years and it is showing no signs of decline. Utilitarian style has come in time just for spring and summer as it is the perfect cool and casual look that can be worn with trainers or dressed up for the evening with some heeled sandals. They say art imitates life and this particular trend seems to be reflecting our already trainer positive culture, particularly since the birth of athleisure. Business attire is becoming more and more casual and designers have already begun meeting this need with cute and functional styles. Whether for business or pleasure, social or sport, trainers will be big this summer and can literally be worn with anything and everything so don’t be afraid to play around with different looks.
Offensive Fashion
As usual with London Fashion Week, some brands will try and catch the eye with shocking or controversial designs. This year it was Burberry’s turn with a nautical theme and one hoody that looked suspiciously like a noose. Fair to say we don’t expect to see this Offensive Fashion hitting the high street any time soon.
