If you are looking for a great place to treat yourself to some delicious coffee or lunch, head over to this lovely joint on 42 Hanbury Street, London. Part of the Happy Café Network, the Canvas Café has a neat range of literature, posters, pamphlets and postcards relating to happiness. The establishment is run by Action for Happiness, a charity dedicated to promoting happiness and wellbeing.
The café is a great meeting spot and provides a fantastic place to for people to connect and share inspiration. The café is best suited for a double date.
2. Bea’s of Bloomsbury, One New Change
This is great for a first date and has some of the most delicious tasting cakes to accompany your coffee. Bea’s also serves pastries and afternoon tea in its main seating area, which is an open-plan, yet private enough to enjoy a tete-a-tete with your partner.
You will love the ambience of the place. If you would like a more private area, you can go upstairs to the where it is just as cosy. Bea’s Bloomsbury has its main café in Bloomsbury (a stone throw from Holborn station) and another in Chelsea. It is definitely one of the best meeting places in London.
3. Fortnum and Mason, Piccadilly
Fortnum and Mason may be known for its luxury stores, but it also offers a great coffee shop for tea lovers. Try out its famous tea or exquisite coffee for an unforgettable experience. From a morning cup of tea to after-dinner espresso, there is a range of specialist delights to choose from.

What is more exciting is the surprisingly affordable price. There are four main areas to enjoy tea, coffee and Champagne, and I advise couples to try the The Fountain on the lower ground floor. You will thank me later.
4. Benugo Cafes
This award winning chain of coffee shops, is renowned for its fresh coffee served in decent, open areas. You can choose to enjoy your afternoon coffee date in the city at its City Road shop, or the one on Curzon Street if you prefer a cosier environment. Benugo also has ties to a string of charming cafes and restaurants in London.
5. Minamoto Kitchoan, Piccadilly
For couples who are into Japanese confectionery, this coffee shop is ideal for your afternoon tea delight. They make sweet dumplings served with amazing coffee.
